CV

Introduction

I have worked within the IT profession for 10 years, with experience of a wide variety of IT systems. However, having worked in both IT Support and IT Management, I am now specialising in Technical Writing.

I have written many in-house training guides for printers, telephone systems, Microsoft Office, mobile devices and even a barrister diary management system, each targeted at the company’s particular requirements and styles. I have also designed and run face-to-face training sessions and have been praised for my project proposals – in particular my ability to explain technical details clearly to a lay audience.

I am currently taking the Cherryleaf Technical Author training course, and I am also teaching myself how to use Madcap Flare and Adobe RoboHelp by making use of their free trials and a host of YouTube videos.

BVRL have asked me to review and update the setup and configuration guides for their virtual reality hardware. As well as the standard VR headsets (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive), this also includes a head-mounted facial motion capture setup and a motion capture suit – used together this allows you to animate an on-screen avatar in real-time, both walking and talking.
